Andreas Breitenmoser received his MSc in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2008. During his studies his interest was first in the field of Microsystems Technology, where he completed his BSc thesis at the Scottish Microelectronics Centre in Edinburgh (Prof. R. Cheung). His focus shifted on the Master’s level more toward embedded systems, computer vision and control. He conducted his MSc thesis on wireless sensor networks and smart objects at the Electronics Laboratory, ETH Zurich (Prof. G. Tröster).
Andreas started his PhD at the Autonomous Systems Laboratory in the end of 2008. The focus of his research is on multi-robot cooperation and distributed coverage control for robotic inspection, especially on curved surfaces, as they typically occur in supply structures of power plants.
His research project is in collaboration with ALSTOM as industrial partner, and the Distributed Robotics Laboratory, CSAIL, MIT (Prof. D. Rus).
