AtlantikSolar research on Meteorological Path Planning(MeteoSwiss and ETHZ cooperation) wins two prizes

The meteorological path planning and automatic route optimization research for AtlantikSolar has won the 2^nd prize (of 34 applicants) within the “Swisscom Innovation Award” (seeexternal pagehttp://ict.swisscom.ch/2014/10/innovationspreis2014-vote-now/call_made) and the 1^st prize for the best poster of the Meteorological Society of Zurich. To emphasize: Using this proper route planning approach, we can reduce the flight time across the Atlantic from 5 to only 2-3 days and guarantee much higher levels of flight safety! The research was part of a Master thesis by Lukas Wirth and was supervised by MeteoSwiss (Jacques Ambühl) and ETHZ. Congratulations and thanks to everybody for the excellent job!
